Objective of the Game

The goal of Go Boom is to be the first player to get rid of all of their cards. The deck consists of cards numbered 1 through 12 in four suits. At the start of each round, players are dealt a hand of cards. They take turns playing cards onto the discard pile, matching either the suit or the number of the top card.

If a player is unable to play a card, they must draw from the deck. The game ends when a player has played all of their cards, or the deck runs out. However, players must be careful not to be holding the 10 of diamonds when the game ends, or they will be "blown up" and lose the round.

How To Play Go Boom

  1. Deal the cards:The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, with the jokers removed. Shuffle the deck and deal seven cards to each player.
  2. Start the game: The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. They can either play a single card or a set of cards of the same rank. For example, they could play a single ace or a set of three sevens.
  3. Play continues: The next player to the left then takes their turn, and the game continues clockwise. Each player must play a card that is either the same rank as the previous player's card or one rank higher or lower. For example, if the previous player played a seven, the next player could play a six, seven, or eight.
  4. Go Boom: If a player cannot or chooses not to play a card, they must draw a card from the deck. If the drawn card is playable, they can play it immediately. If not, they must keep it in their hand and continue drawing cards until they can play. When a player is out of cards, they say "Go Boom!" and the round ends.
  5. Scoring: Players receive one point for each card they played during the round. The first player to reach a predetermined score (usually 50) wins the game.

Keeping Score

Keeping score in Go Boom is simple. Each player receives one point for each card they played during the round. The player who reaches the predetermined score first (usually 50) wins the game.
