How To Play Persian Rummy
- Shuffle the deck of cards and deal 7 cards to each player.
- Place the remaining cards face down on the table to form the draw pile.
- Turn the top card of the draw pile face up to start the discard pile.
- On each turn, a player must draw one card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
- The player may then create sets and runs of cards in their hand and lay them down on the table.
- The player must then discard one card from their hand onto the discard pile.
- The game continues in this manner, with each player taking turns to draw, create sets and runs, and discard.
- The game ends when a player has created sets and runs that total at least 500 points.
- The player with the highest score at the end of the game is the winner.
Keeping Score
Points are earned by creating sets and runs of cards. A set is three or four cards of the same rank, and a run is three or more cards of the same suit in sequence. Each card has a point value, with aces being worth 1 point, face cards being worth 10 points, and all other cards being worth their face value. The player who goes out first earns a bonus of 10 points, and any cards left in the other players' hands are counted against them. The player with the highest score at the end of the game is the winner.
